Our teams range in age from 14yrs through to whomever is the oldest with games starting at 6.30pm till 9pm on a Thursday night.

In 2011, a group of 7 random strangers came together from anywhere and everywhere to create a netball team, to play on a Thursday night, at Carrara. This team was the beginning of what we see today. These foundation girls, in the original STELLAR team, went on to develop such a love of playing the game, that more players ‘wanted what we had’ and joined the Stellar Ladies teams playing on Thursday nights. By 2013, we had 3 Ladies teams and had also introduced the now yellow and gold strip that is synonymous with the teamSTELLAR vision.
By 2015 we hit our peak with 5 Womens teams playing on Thursday nights, a few indoor teams, as well as a Saturday afternoon ladies team playing also.
Whilst our foundation of players is strong, many who have been with us for 10+ plus years, we also have players who come and go as their lives allow. We have had many ladies over the years, join us, and reignite their love of a childhood game, once thought to be lost years ago.
Our goal is to see their passion and love for the game reignited, no matter their physical ability, and mental limitations. We focus on creating a safe environment for these women to return, many who felt they were ‘past their used by date’, or they didn’t believe they had the fitness. our are simply too scared to take that initial leap. Enter teamSTELLAR.
We aim to create a family environment, where our young ones on the sidelines are our biggest fans, and loudest mascots. We promote vocal encourage of positive kind and always aim to ensure every player leaves the court with a smile on their faces.
In 2020, during the COVID-19 lockdown, building on the foundations of our Ladies teams, we were finally able to create our Incorporated Club and in 2021, we introduced our first Junior Netball teams into the mix.
Looking around the teams, you’ll see many faces that were once our tiny sideline mascots, who have been asking us since they were tiny ‘when will I get to be a stellar player’. Little ones – your time is NOW! To say they were excited was an understatement!
We are proud to be able to offer our juniors a future pathway into our senior teams as they turn 14 years. Our vision is to, where possible, give our juniors the opportunity to play with their mums, aunties, sisters, & cousins.
These juniors, who grew up sideline watching their mums play, can then play alongside the ‘old girls’, and hopefully, continue the vision to create a ‘family, all abilities, inclusive playing environment’.
Our focus is to ensure our juniors develop a LOVE of the game and are still playing well into their 50’s with their kids and maybe even their grandchildren.
